Drywall Repair & Patching

A lasting drywall patch needs support, a suitable replacement panel and enough finishing area to blend the edges. We assess the size of the opening and the surrounding board before selecting a repair method. The estimate distinguishes repairing the wall from repainting a complete surface.

Is this the right service?

Holes, torn paper, loose joint tape and damaged corners that interrupt an otherwise sound wall.

  • Plumbers or electricians have left access openings.
  • Furniture or doors have damaged a wall.
  • Joint tape, fasteners or corner trim need localized attention.

What we review in your scope

The written estimate identifies the surfaces, preparation and finishing stages included in your project.

  • Damage review
  • Backing and panel patching
  • Joint reinforcement
  • Blended finishing

From preparation to handoff

How the work is carried out

  1. 01

Identify sound material around the damage and protect the work area.

  2. 02

Install backing or a supported panel patch as required.

  3. 03

Reinforce joints and apply successive finishing coats.

  4. 04

Feather the repair, review the surface and explain primer and paint needs.

What affects the estimate?

A price based only on room size can miss important preparation. These details help define a comparable, realistic scope:

  • Number and size of openings
  • Board thickness and access
  • Texture matching requirements
  • Extent of primer and repainting

Before your assessment

Photograph the damage with an object for scale and include a view of the entire wall. Confirm that any concealed plumbing or electrical work is complete.

Timing & finish expectations

Even small patches may need return visits for drying. Several repairs in one visit can be more practical than separate appointments.

  • Support behind repairs where required.
  • A blended transition instead of a raised patch edge.
  • Clear separation of repair and painting scope.

Discuss access, occupied rooms and the work of other trades before scheduling. Any additional preparation discovered on site should be discussed before the scope changes.

Questions about drywall repair & patching

Can you repair holes after plumbing work?

Yes, once the other trade has finished and any required access or checks are complete. We review backing and board condition before closing the opening.

Will the patch show after painting?

The goal is a gradual surface transition, but texture and paint sheen can still differ. Priming the repair and painting to room boundaries helps create consistency.

Can a loose seam simply be painted over?

Paint does not reattach failing tape. The loose material and underlying cause should be addressed before refinishing.
